The pioneering Indian industrialist J R D Tata died yesterday after nearly half a century heading India's biggest business house, the Tata group, Reuter reports from Bombay. A Tata spokesman said JRD, as he was known, died in a Geneva hospital where he had been admitted for a check-up.
