Italians convicted
A court in Milan convicted two former Socialist mayors of the city of corruption and sentenced them to jail terms of four years or more, Reuter reports from Milan.
Paolo Pillitteri and Carlo Tognoli were sentenced to four and a half years and four years respectively. The two former mayors, who were close to former Socialist prime minister Bettino Craxi, were convicted of taking bribes for their party from the Milan electricity company and banned from holding public office for five years.
