Talks in Mogadishu calmed a row over UN demands for the recall of General Bruno Loi, the commander of Italy's peace-keeping troops there, Reuter reports from Rome. Italian newspapers said the Italian contingent would stay in Mogadishu and Gen Loi would not return to Rome until his tour of duty ended in September.
