Judge lashes out

A Singapore judge who last month ordered six strokes of the cane for an American teenager for car vandalism sentenced an Asian youth to 12 strokes and eight months in jail for the same offences, Reuter reports from Singapore.

Judge F G Remedios found Shiu Chi Ho, 17, of Hong Kong, with a British passport, guilty of four charges of spray-painting cars in the company of Michael Fay and others last September.
