Hizbollah and Israeli-paid militiamen fought a pitched battle near the Lebanese town of Jezzine yesterday, writes Robert Fisk in Beirut. The fighting followed a Hizbollah attack on Israel's occupation zone which, according to the guerrillas, killed at least four members of Israel's proxy South Lebanon Army. Lebanese police officials said that six soldiers in the Lebanese national army had also been wounded in the mortar and rocket grenade assault.
