Malawi activist detained again
Lusaka (AP) - Chakufwa Chihana, the Malawi pro-democracy leader charged with anti-government activities, was detained yesterday, four days after his release on bail, his wife said.
Christina Chihana said her husband was detained when he reported to police in accordance with his bail conditions. 'They put him into a car accompanied by two police Land- Rovers and drove off,' she said in a telephone interview.
It was not clear why or where Mr Chihana, a trade union leader, was being held.
