Egyptian police hunt for a dozen suspects over resort bombings

Hospital officials in Sharm el Sheik put the final death toll at 88. The hospital said that several sets of body parts had not been identified.

At least 10 Britons have been reported missing and one, Keri Davies, 29, from Fareham, Hampshire, has been confirmed dead.

Police have come up with a list of at least 15 names believed connected to the three bombings, including Moussa Badran, who is suspected to be the suicide attacker who rammed a pick-up packed with 660lb (300 kg) of explosives into the reception of the Ghazala Gardens Hotel in Naama Bay.

The officials said the list includes Bedouin tribesmen and Egyptians from the Sinai area, a barren peninsula covered by jagged mountains ranges and desert bordering the Gaza Strip and Israel.

Few details were provided about those on the list, but most are believed to be at large and also connected with last October's bombings of Sinai resorts farther north at Taba and Ras Shitan that killed 34 people, including many Israelis.

Those wanted by police are suspected of carrying out, planning or preparing Saturday's three pre-dawn attacks on the Ghazala, a nearby car park and an area popular with local Egyptians some 3km away called the Old Market, the officials said.

Most of the dead were Egyptian.
