Exclusive: Activists reveal torture in Syria

Extraordinary and rare footage obtained by The Independent reveals the grim reality of life inside Aleppo for the activists living in a revolution that is now "consuming its own children".

The video is the first to capture a brave demonstration led by moderate rebels trying to reclaim the Syrian revolution from the clutches of jihadist groups such as Isis and Jabhat al-Nusra, before prominent activists describe being beaten and tortured by extremists.
