Mobutu 'wrong to sack PM'
KINSHASA (AFP) - Zaire's High Council of the Republic, the interim parliament, yesterday rejected a presidential decree dismissing the Prime Minister. President Mobutu Sese Seko sacked Etienne Tshisekedi on Friday and ordered him to designate someone else to form a government 'of public salvation'.
The High Council rejected both demands but emphasised 'the necessity and the urgency' of forming a new government. It said President Mobutu's demands were 'inadmissible in view of his lack of power to dismiss the Prime Minister'.
