Morillon 'recalled'
(First Edition)
PARIS (Reuter) - Franced has decided to end the mission of General Philippe Morillon, commander of UN forces in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and he could return home as early as next week, the newspaper Le Monde reported yesterday. The paper said armed forces chiefs decided to end the General's tour because the UN mission was becoming less humanitarian and 'more offensive' as Western states prepared to enforce a no-fly zone over the former Yugoslav republic. He would be replaced by another French officer.
France also has information that General Morillon, whose efforts to alleviate Muslim civilian suffering have drawn international media attention, is personally threatened, presumably by Serbs, the newspaper said.
