Nobel poet dies
Athens - Odysseus Elytis, 85, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1979, died at his home in central Athens yesterday. Radio stations broke into programmes to announced his death and many started non-stop broadcasts of his poems, which became hugely popular when set to music. Reuter
