A couple have pleaded guilty of abandoning their daughter in a field and lying about it to police officers after telling a relative they felt “no connection” to her.

Hezile Frison, 36, and Monica Adams, 21, both from Kenosha in Wisconsin, US, have been sentenced following the death of their daughter Jalisa Adams-Frison, who was two-months-old at the time.

In August last year, Kenosha Police Department said they received a missing person report for an infant who had been missing since late July.

In a statement, the force added: “Through investigative efforts, it was determined that the infant was deceased and its body disposed of in the field at 50th Street and 52nd Avenue.  A search of that field yielded possible evidence of the disposal.

“The child was identified as two month old Jalisa Adams-Frison, born in May of 2019.”

According to news station Fox6, a relative, who was Jalisa’s primary carer, woke up and found the couple had taken their daughter.

It added that when they returned home, they were “argumentative” when discussing the location of where Jalisa was, and then Frison “became emotional” about knowing where she was. Different stories were given is to how she had died, Fox6 said.

It added: “The relative stated that Frison and Adams ‘didn't have an emotional connection’ with the child.”

Local reports added that the child’s body has never been found.

Court documents said that both Frison and Adams were charged with moving/hiding/burying the corpse of child and false information on a kidnapped or missing person.

Frison was sentenced to two years and six months in prison while Adams was placed on probation for 4 years and nine months in the Kenosha County Jail with Huber privileges, which allows defendants to keep working or receive treatments while serving their sentences, as she was classed as a “party to a crime”.
