Party chooses Hue
Paris - The French Communist Party yesterday selected another hardliner, Robert Hue, to succeed Georges Marchais as its leader. He is the president of the communist officials association and has served on the party's political bureau since 1990. His appointment came at the end of a five-day party congress at which Mr Marchais stepped down after leading the party for 22 years.
