Party on wild side for Warhol museum
The Andy Warhol Museum opened last night with a wild party attended by many of the artist's eccentric friends and well-known celebrities, Reuter reports from Pittsburgh. The party marks the start of a weekend celebration honouring the artist, who has come to symbolise American pop culture. The largest single-artist museum in the United States opens its doors tonight, and admission will be free to the public until midnight tomorrow. Warhol's passion for celebrities is reflected in a wing of the museum, which displays his posters of Mick Jagger, Grace Jones, Liza Minnelli and Truman Capote.
