Pol Pot 'retired'
KINSHASA (Reuter) - Mobutu Sese Seko, the President of Zaire, refused yesterday to endorse the election of Etienne Tshisekedi, the new Prime Minister. Mr Mobutu's refusal will not stop the radical opposition leader taking office.
Mr Mobutu was also refusing to sign a 'transitional charter', paving the way for multi-party elections in 18-24 months' time.
