Polish comeback
The former Communists in Poland emerged as the party with most votes in Sunday's local elections, but a centre-right coalition improved from its previous poor showing, AP reports from Poland. The Democratic Left Alliance, formerly the communists, topped other parties for councils in 30 of the 49 provincial capitals.
