Somalis fired two missiles out to sea overnight towards more than a dozen US, German and Italian ships anchored off Mogadishu's coast, Reuter reports from Mogadishu. The UN said the missiles exploded in the water short of any craft. The explosions occurred as General John Shalikashvili, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, spent the night with the last American troops camped out at Mogadishu's UN-controlled airfield. They are to leave at the end of the month.
