(Ad Council)

A direct descendant of First Kiss and #LikeAGirl, Love Has No Labels is a new advert about to go viral from the Ad Council that pushes the limit for how saccharine JUST BE YOURSELF campaigns can be.

It sees pairs of people kiss, embrace or frolic behind a screen that only displays their skeletons, before revealing themselves to a carefully filmed audience.

A lesbian couple! The crowd's mouths drop in unison. An interracial couple! They applaud.

There are also disabled children, a gay couple with a child, an eldery man and wife and Jewish and Muslim neighbours in the advert, which is knowingly sponsored by Coca Cola, P&G, Pepsi Co and Unilever.

"My heart doesn't see race," the advert concludes in a barrage of platitudes. "Love has no age limit." "That's my best friend." "We are neighbours and best friends." "We all have different religions but we have universal love as well." "I love my sister." "Love is love." "Our family is no less than any other family."

Set to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' 'Same Love' it's all very well-meaning and the message is of course a positive one, but uuuugh...
