Turkish earthquake toll put at 71
Dinar - Thousands of homeless people trailed through the streets of this small Turkish town yesterday or searched desperately through their devastated homes, following a massive earthquake which has so far claimed some 71 lives. Yahya Gur, governor of the Afyon region where Dinar is located, said 212 people were injured. Housing Minister Halil Culhaoglu on Sunday warned that the toll would probably rise to about 100 dead.
