Vieira wins Guinea-Bissau election
Bissau - Joao Bernardo Vieira was declared victorious on Saturday, two weeks after the second round of presidential voting in Guinea- Bissau. Mr Vieira, who has run the country since a palace coup in 1980, becomes the first democratically elected head of state. AP
