Yeltsin vow
President Boris Yeltsin vowed yesterday to curb political violence after May Day clashes between police and Communist demonstrators in the capital, Reuter reports from Moscow. 'We will do all we can to ensure that similar provocations are not repeated,' Mr Yeltsin said in a joint statement with his Prime Minister, Viktor Chernomyrdin.
