Cuttings: Open gardens
THE Gardeners' Royal Benevolent Society provides houses for retired gardeners in several parts of the country and tomorrow the 10 gardens at its Kings Stanley property will be open for the first time to the public (2-6pm). There is a stream and a duckpond, and there are vegetable allotments and flower- packed front gardens. Kings Stanley is on the A419 three miles west of Stroud, Gloucestershire.
