Made the grade

Community action has rescued an important Blackheath building and put it back into family use. The Hollies, a Victorian villa in Lee Terrace built by George Ledwell Taylor, was bought by the Blackheath Preservation Trust last year. Recent ugly extensions were knocked down, leaving an architecturally authentic four-bedroom, three-receptions house - under offer - and a two-bedroom coach house next door. A new Grade II listing should prevent it falling into unsympathetic hands.
