Although they're twins in many respects, in terms of interiors the houses are most definitely not related. Number 8 is a old-fashioned fantasy with original wood flooring, real fireplaces and a vine twining into the kitchen; next door, the mood is unashamedly contemporary - the young American couple who own it have given the walls the Farrow and Ball treatment and glass- bricked the hall. These two detached villas in East Molesey aren't exactly the same, but there are some quirky parallels: they're next door to each other, both for sale at the same time and both on the market for the same price: pounds 369,950. Numbers 8 and 10 Esher Road are likely to appeal to Mr and Mrs who "need some space", swinging couples who don't want to shell out the bus fare, and those who want Granny to knock before she enters.
