THE Buffalo Bills achieved an unprecedented fourth successive trip to the Super Bowl when they easily beat the Kansas City Chiefs 30-13 yesterday in the American Football Conference title game. They will meet the Dallas Cowboys, who overcame San Francisco 38-21 in the NFC confrontation last night.

Thurman Thomas rushed for 186 yards on 33 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Bills' attack.

As Thomas sliced through the Chiefs defence, the Bills took a 20-6 half-time lead, and when Kansas City lost their quarterback, Joe Montana, with mild concussion early in the third quarter there was going to be only one result.

'We had a great game plan and the offensive line did the best job they've ever done since I've been a Buffalo Bill,' Thomas said. 'Going into the Super Bowl, we know what it takes. For this one, a lot of people didn't want us back. But our job is not done yet.'

CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES: AFC: Buffalo Bills 30 Kansas City Chiefs 13. NFC: Dallas Cowboys 38 San Francisco Giants 21.
