Athletics : Malaga malaise for Haringey
Haringey, runners-up two years ago, were sixth, 15 points behind Spanish leaders Larios, after the first day of the European Clubs' Cup in Malaga. They recorded two victories, but also a number of seventh and eighth finishes. Tony Jarrett, impressive in his first international of the summer, won the sprint hurdle in 13.53sec despite not training for more than a month because of a toe injury. Dalton Grant, who has had hamstring trouble, took the high jump at 2.27m.
