Boxing: Francois Botha outpoints Lee Gilbert

South Africa's Francois Botha, a former International Boxing Federation heavyweight champion, outpointed Lee Gilbert in a 12-round unanimous decision on Saturday night to retain the World Boxing Association North American title. On the same bill in Tampa, Florida, Ghana's Nana Konadu outpointed Thailand's Daorung Siriwat to reclaim the WBA bantamweight title; Jamaica's Uriah Grant outpointed Adolpho Washington to take the IBF cruiserweight title; and Charles Brewer stopped South Africa's Gary Ballard in the fifth round to claim the vacant IBF super middleweight title.
