The much-anticipated fight between heavyweight boxers Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko is set to take place on 10 December.

Rising star Joshua, 26, will face a highly experienced opponent in Wladimir Klitschko, 40 in the £30m bout.

But the Watford native has been unbeaten since he turned professional in 2013, after a gold performance at the London Olympics.

Klitschko, who had one of the longest heavyweight title records of all time, was beaten by Tyson Fury in November 2015.

While the fight is guaranteed excite fans and challenge Joshua, former British champion David Haye has voiced his confidence in the young boxer.

Haye - who lost to Klitschko - told The Sun: “Joshua has got him at the perfect time. Klitschko physically always looks the part and comes to the ring in shape but he is not the fighter he once was.

“And sometimes fighters are the last to realise it. I just hope he doesn’t get too bashed up.

“Joshua at 26 is too fresh, too young, too enthusiastic. Klitschko is just too old.”

The venue has yet to be decided, is unlikely to be the O2 in London because of prearranged concerts close to the fight date.

The Manchester Arena or the Principality Stadium in Cardiff have been rumoured as possible venues.
