The rematch between Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew was announced today for 22 November in Liverpool, to be screened on Sky Box Office Pay-Per-View. Cue outrage from boxing fans who don't fancy stumping up £15 to watch the domestic grudge match.
Cleverly won their first bout by a majority decision at the Echo Arena in October 2011, where they will fight again next month.
Both fighters have moved up a division in weight now after rebuilding their careers after comprehensive defeats at world level, but neither are deserving of a world title shot at cruiserweight, which is far from the most exciting division as it is.
"Many people have asked me why I am going back to Liverpool to fight Tony Bellew again and the answer is simple – I don't like him," Cleverly said today.
Bellew hit back with: "I have seen his horrible face in my head many nights since the fight but I have not had the chance to make it right."
