Martin Offiah, who scored 28 tries in the League season that finished last week, scored four more yesterday as Wigan stretched their unbeaten Challenge Cup record to 43 games.

Bramley, of the Second Division, were overrun 74-12 at Central Park, but emerged with plenty of credit for a spirited performance, particularly in the first half, before Wigan's superior pace and power finally told.

The 14 tries helped Wigan to their highest total in the record run, beating the 72 points they scored against Rochdale in 1991.

Man of the match Shaun Edwards, who successfully appealed against suspension to play, was involved in the first four tries.

Johnny Lawless guided Sheffield Eagles safely through with two tries in a 35-14 win at Huddersfield.

The 21-year-old former Great Britain Academy international hooker was a constant thorn in Huddersfield's side and walked away with the man-of- the-match award. It was his second try 48 seconds into the second half which turned the game Sheffield's way.

Until then, Huddersfield were holding the Eagles at 10-10 after after battling back from 10-0 down to level by half-time.

But Lawless's second touch-down - like his first, straight from acting half-back - provided the platform for a powerful second-half display from Sheffield.

The Eagles suffered a major blow five minutes later when their stand- off, David Mycoe, was taken off on a stretcher with damaged knee ligaments.
