BRIEFLY : Bond becomes youngest ever champion

Exeter's Ian Bond became the youngest ever national indoors singles champion at Melton Mowbray yesterday when he won the Manchester Unity final. Bond, 21, scored a 21-20 victory over former English indoor and outdoor champion Ian Wones to lift the trophy. Bond has never been selected for England's junior indoor side.
