Tour de France: Chris Froome retains yellow jersey as Jarlinson Pantano wins stage 15
Team Sky's Froome crossed safely in a much-reduced peloton to retain his overall lead
Chris Froome stayed safe in the yellow jersey as Jarlinson Pantano won stage 15 of the Tour de France from Bourg-en-Bresse to Culoz.
As the last remnants of a 30-man breakaway, Colombian Pantano of IAM Cycling outsprinted Tinkoff's Rafal Majka for the first Grand Tour stage victory of his career.
Team Sky's Froome crossed safely in a much-reduced peloton to retain his overall lead.
Pantano outsprinted Polish rider Rafal Majka to the finish line in Culoz.
Race leader Froome finished slightly more than three minutes behind in a group including all of the other contenders and kept the yellow jersey.
Majka, who started an early breakaway soon after the start in Bourg-en-Bresse, moved away on his own in the final of six categorized climbs on the day's agenda.
A third-place finisher at the Spanish Vuelta last year, Majka accelerated in the punishing 8.4-kilometer climb of the Lacets du Grand Colombier to drop Pantano. But Majka made a mistake on the descent and allowed his rival to rejoin him.
