Robbie Dennison, the 32-year-old winger who has been placed on the transfer list by Wolverhampton Wanderers, has won a recall to the Northern Ireland squad for the European Championship qualifier against Latvia in Belfast on 7 June.

Dennison, who began his career with Glenavon before moving to West Bromwich Albion, has 17 full caps but has not featured in an international squad for nearly a year.

Manager Bryan Hamilton also brings back Steve Morrow of Arsenal and the Reading player-manager, Jimmy Quinn, who were unavailable for last week's trip to Canada, where Northern Ireland lost to Canada and Chile.

The Sunderland striker, Phil Gray, who did make the trip, is left out; St Johnstone's George O'Boyle is preferred. The Swindon midfielder, Kevin Horlock, is injured. Hamilton retains newcomers Pat McGibbon (Manchester United), Gerard McMahon (Tottenham), Neil Lennon (Crewe) and Keith Rowland (West Ham), who all showed up well during the two matches in Edmonton.

n Stuart Ryder, the Walsall centre-back who has been watched by Leeds United this season, has been called into the England Under-21 squad for next month's Toulon tournament.
