England floored in Nations Cup
England's interest in the European Nations Cup ended with their third successive 3-0 defeat in Bayreuth. Austria were the latest country to inflict a whitewash on the inexperienced English side after their earlier group B defeats to Sweden and host nation Germany.
But there was some comfort from the performance of Manchester's Jonathan Taylor in the match against Austria. The 23-year-old secured the first game against Werner Schlager 21-18 only for the young Austrian to hit back with 21-16 21-17 wins.
