Ray Floyd won the Senior Slam for the second successive year, scoring a 65 to capture the four-man US PGA Senior Tour event by three strokes in Los Cabos, Mexico, yesterday. He finished the two-round tournament with a total of 140, followed by Jack Nicklaus (143), Tom Weiskopf (144) and J C Snead (146).

Julie Hall, Britain's top woman amateur for the past decade, has been appointed tournament secretary of the Ladies Union and will retire from international play after this year's Curtis Cup match at Killarney in June. Her greatest individual successes have been in winning the British Amateur Championship in both 1990 and 1995 and three English titles.
