Football / FA Cup Final: Moat for Wembley

Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday will be the last clubs to contest the FA Cup behind Wembley fences. After Thursday night's replay the pitch perimeter fencing will be torn down and replaced with a dry moat, primarily in response to complaints over restricted viewing.

'We are aware there are between 500 and 800 seats with a viewing problem,' Sir Brian Wolfson, the chairman of the Wembley Stadium and Events Group, said. 'We have been working on an experimental form of fencing which will prevent people getting on the pitch but does not restrict viewing.'
