FOOTBALL: Mutu begins rehabilitation spell at Adams' clinic

The former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu yesterday began two weeks of rehabilitation at Tony Adams' Sporting Chance clinic. The Romania international is currently banned after testing positive for cocaine last year, but will play for Juventus when the suspension is lifted on 16 May.

The Real Madrid playmaker Zinedine Zidane said he will retire in 2007 at the latest. "My contract runs until 2007 and I won't go any further," the 32-year-old Frenchman said yesterday. "Stopping before then is not on my agenda, but who knows? I won't go further than 2007 but I would like to go all the way."

Cardiff have recruited the former Leeds owner Peter Ridsdale as an adviser on their new pounds 100m stadium, which will be largely funded by retail outlets, investment projects and the leisure industry.
