Augsburg vs Liverpool: Bundesliga club create 'Scouse/German' translation guide for away fans

Liverpool’s forthcoming Europa League opponents Augsburg have offered travelling fans a ‘Scouse to German’ translation guide ahead of Thursday’s first leg at the WWK Arena.

The Bundesliga club’s Twitter account published the handy infographic with a message to travelling Kopites: “A little something to help our @LFC friends out & about in Augsburg, and perhaps even #Klopp back at home.”

Many of the phrases are ones which a young Liverpool fan taught the club’s German-born manager Jurgen Klopp in a viral video last year.

Augsburg translate “givin’ it bifters”, which means to try hard, as “dein Bestes geben” and "boss, tha", which means 'that’s good', as “endsgeil”.

With their chances of finishing inside the Premier League’s top four currently remote, Klopp’s side return to Europa League action with the hope of progressing far into the competition.

The winner of Europe’s second-tier continental club tournament is automatically awarded a place in next year’s Champions League.

Liverpool, currently 8^th in the table, are nine points behind fourth-placed but faltering Manchester City.

Klopp’s men must successfully negotiate a further four rounds of Europa League competition before the tournament’s final in Basel, Switzerland.
