Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia scored the opening goal in the Champions League tie against Arsenal with what at first glance looked like a screamer.

But on second glance it showed that his long-distance strike from outside the box had taken a deflection off Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker.

The touch of the German defender ensured Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina looked very silly. The Mexican stopper was rooted to the spot as the ball went flying into the net to gift the French team one of three crucial away goals in the Round of 16 tie.

Despite the deflection, should Ospina have done better? The internet has been having its say...

Monaco won the match 3-1.
