In the first leg Lionel Messi made Jerome Boateng look a fool. In the second leg it was Luis Suarez who claimed the title of tormentor in chief.

And the poor boob among the Bayern Munich team that were knocked out of the Champions League? Medhi Benatia.

The French defender was tricked by an outrageous bit of skill from the former Liverpool player during a first-half at the Allianz Arena in which Barcelona ensured they would be taking their place at next month's final in Berlin.

Brazil star Neymar scored twice for Barcelona in the first period after Benatia's goal for the hosts to ensure there was no way back for Bayern Munich, who were already trailing 3-0 from the first leg. But amongst the goals, Suarez pulled off the moment of the night with an incredible touch and turn.

Prior to the semi-final tie, Benatia spoke about facing Suarez and his fellow Barcelona strikers. This is what he said: "On a personal level, I respect them. But I will not show them any respect during the 90 minutes on the pitch."

He might do after last night.
