Louis van Gaal will not be calling upon David De Gea yet again for Manchester United's Champions League play-off against Club Brugge at Old Trafford tomorrow night.

Because of the transfer speculation linking the goalkeeper with Real Madrid, United manager Louis van Gaal is currently not considering playing De Gea until after the transfer window shuts on 1 September, if he is still at the club then.

The 24-year-old has not been included in any of the club's two Premier League matches this season, with Van Gaal citing a lack of citing a lack of focus.

Asked about De Gea's mental state, Van Gaal said: "It is not a good question. I don't answer the question. I have already said two weeks ago."

Phil Jones remains out after a blood clot was detected in his calf, which Van Gaal describes as "not an injury, more an illness and it's getting better." He is expected to be back in action next month.

Marouane Fellaini, who is serving a domestic suspension after he was sent off against Hull on the final day of last season, is free to play.

Speaking about the match tomorrow night, Van Gaal says that the pressure is on: "There is a lot of pressure because our aim and goal is to reach the Champions League.

"This is what Arsene Wenger talked about last year.

"It is difficult. Because of the draw, it is now much more difficult.

"Brugge can defend very well and they can attack also. It will be a difficult match I think and that's why the pressure is high.

"The board, fans and players of Manchester United want to be in the Champions League.

"Because of the pressure, we need to show our quality is good."
