Real Madrid have announced a board meeting for tonight, after which president Florentino Perez will hold a press conference.

Madrid gave no further details but it is expected that Perez will talk about the coaching situation at the Spanish giants, with Jose Mourinho strongly linked with the job.

Manuel Pellegrini is currently the coach of Real but he has found himself under intense pressure after failing to win a trophy in his first season in charge.

Widespread speculation over the last few weeks suggests that Pellegrini will be replaced by Mourinho, who this season led Inter Milan to an unprecedented treble of Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League titles.

The Madrid board meeting will begin at 1830 local time and the press conference is scheduled to start at 1930 at the Bernabeu.
