The term super-sub gets thrown around, but there is no better terminology to describe Robert Lewandowski's impact for Bayern Munich last night.

With his team trailing 1-0 against Wolfsburg, Pep Guardiola introduced the striker at half-time. By the 60th minute, Lewandowski had scored five goals.

The Poland international's haul was achieved in a crazy nine minute spell, starting in the 51st minute of the Bundesliga match at the Allianz Arena.

Speaking after the 5-1 win, Lewandowski said: "This was just crazy. Five goals, that's just unbelievable. I just wanted to shoot and wasn't thinking about what happened afterwards. I am very, very satisfied. This was a great evening for me.

"I look up at the board after the third or fourth goal and I was surprised there was still so much time left to play. The coach did not have to tell me anything. I knew what had to be done."

Unsurprisingly, Lewandowski broke a few records. Among them was the quickest Bundesliga hat-trick (four minutes), then a new record for four goals in the same match and then likewise for five. He also became the first Bundesliga substitute to score more than a hat-trick and scored five in the fastest time in a major European league since Opta started recording stats.
