It’s a big game for…

JOE HART: Despite performing relatively well in City’s first three Champions League games this season, Hart has conceded in seven of his last eight appearances and has only kept one clean sheet in Europe since 2013. He nearly cost his side three points on Saturday after a horrible error led to Cameron Jerome equalising for Norwich City late on at the Etihad Stadium. He’ll need to be back to his best if City can get a positive result at a ground where Sevilla have only lost three of their last 44 matches in all competitions.

Best stat…

2-1: All three of Manchester City’s European games this season have finished in a 2-1 scoreline. City have won two of the three games but it could have been a lot worse had it not been 90th minute goals against Borussia Monchengladbach and tonight’s opponents.

Remember when…

The meeting between these two a fortnight ago was the only time that the clubs have ever met and resulted in a 2-1 City victory. The visitors took a 30th minute lead through Ukrainian winger Yevhen Konoplyanka, but an Adil Rami own goal levelled matters before Kevin De Bruyne struck a crucial winner in extra time.

Player to watch…

KEVIN GAMEIRO: The French forward is in great form having scored four goals in his last four games, including a hat-trick in La Liga ten days ago. He has made the lone striker role his own following the departure of top goalscorer Carlos Bacca to AC Milan in the summer. The 28-year-old has an excellent record at this stadium and the has struck five goals in five starts here this season and could well be a threat here.

Past meeting…

Manchester City 2 (Rami og, De Bruyne) Sevilla 1 (Konoplyanka), Champions League, October 2015
