Diego Benaglio: Wolfsburg’s progression to the quarter-final stage has relied heavily on their excellent defensive record and the form of their Swiss keeper Diego Benaglio who has four clean sheets to his name in this season’s Champions League.

Only Bayern Munich have outscored Real Madrid in this year’s competition with the Spanish giants averaging almost three goals a game to date.

Wolfsburg will enter Wednesday night’s first-leg as huge underdogs, so if the Germans are to have any chance of pulling off a shock you suspect that Benaglio will have to be in the form of his life to keep Real Madrid’s super stars at bay.

Whilst Wolfsburg’s defensive record this season has been reasonably good, they have conceded five goals in their last three appearances in the tournament. If their defensive performance isn’t improved on Wednesday, Ronaldo will fancy his chances of adding to his European tally.
