What could have been a very awkward night for Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane ended up being rather comfortable.

Two goals down after the first leg to unfancied Wolfsburg, Real Madrid needed to be at their very best if they were going to progress to the Champions League semi-finals.

It didn't take long for Cristiano Ronaldo to come to the fore, the Portuguese superstar scoring two goals in less than 20 minutes to bring the tie level, before sealing his hat-trick with a superb free-kick that sent Los Blancos into the final four.

A good and relatively trouble free night for Zidane then - except for one embarrassing moment.

With about 10 minutes to go, Real Madrid were a goal up but the the 43-year-old obviously felt the game was far from over.

Following a missed chance, the World Cup, European Championships and Champions League winner reacted in anger spinning on the spot.

Unfortunately for Zidane, his trousers decided to give way.

No matter, at least Real Madrid are in Friday's draw for the semi-final.
