Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Daniel Sturridge will be sidelined for the Capital One Cup fixture against Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

Sturridge was injured after a training ground collision the day before Klopp’s debut Liverpool – away at Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.

Klopp has confirmed today that Sturridge is not yet ready to return to action.

The German remains winless from his three matches as Liverpool manager, but the manager says that they have not been easy opposition.

“We had results, not the most satisfying results in the world but we didn’t have easy opponents.

“Tottenham away, not easy, Rubin Kazan, not easy and Southampton have lost no away games this season.

“I have no problems with this. I knew that when you’re new in a club you have to accept that the way is hard. We don’t have friendly games to get better."

Klopp says he wil make changes to his Liverpool team from the team who drew 1-1 with Southampton on Sunday for Wednesday's match.

"We have to change the team a bit," he said. “I don’t know how many changes we will make.

“I make the changes not because this tournament is not important.

“It is always because we believe we can win with the team we play. It is what we will do with this team.”
