The FA have confirmed that the FA Cup fifth-round replay between Hull City and Arsenal will take place on Tuesday, March 8 with a 7pm kick-off. The original tie between the teams ended in a goalless draw last Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.
This fixture, which will be shown on BT Sport, comes just three days after the Gunners crucial Premier League tie at north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The replay will be played on the same night as Champions League ties, and FA chief executive Martin Glenn has thanked Uefa for their cooperation in the scheduling of the fixture. Usually Uefa does not allow any to-level domestic games to be played at the same time of the Champions League ties, and have allowed the FA Cup game to take place with a premature start.
"We want all of our clubs to be part of strong, vibrant domestic competitions, to perform well on the European stage and for the England team to be challenging for international honours," Glenn said in a statement on the FA's official website.
"To have a better chance of achieving these aims more effectively, it is imperative we resolve the on-going problem of match scheduling together.
