The draw for the fifth round of the League Cup will be made following the conclusion of Sky Sports' live TV game on Wednesday night, which sees Bournemouth travel to Liverpool. The draw will be made live on Sky Sports News HQ, with the ties taking place on 1 and 2 December, a couple of weeks earlier than in previous seasons. The semi-finals take place in January, with the final at Wembley on 28 February.

Eddie Howe’s side travel north to Anfield for the second time this season, having lost there to a controversial Christian Benteke goal in August. The south coast side have lost their last two matches 5-1, at Manchester City and home to Tottenham, while Liverpool are drawn all three of their games under new manager Jurgen Klopp – the most recent being Sunday’s 1-1 draw at home to Southampton.

The night’s other ties include the rare occurrence of both Manchester sides playing at home, Premier League leaders City taking on Crystal Palace, with Middlesbrough heading to Old Trafford to take on United. Managerless Aston Villa travel to Southampton.

Holders Chelsea were knocked out on penalties by Stoke on Tuesday as Jose Mourinho’s side lost for the eighth time this season, while fellow London side Arsenal also exited, Arsene Wenger’s side losing 3-0 at Championship Sheffield Wednesday. Hull were another second-tier side to prevail at home to top-flight opposition, sending in-form Leicester on their way from the penalty spot, while Norwich went out from 12 yards against Everton at Goodison Park.
