Harris steers Millwall on the road to victory

Millwall 4 AFC Wimbledon 1

On a night when new heavyweight champion David Haye was presented to the crowd at The New Den, Millwall proved to have too rather much punch for their South London rivals AFC Wimbledon. The League One club strolled into the second round of the FA Cup although an eventual scoreline of 4-1 was perhaps a little unfair on their non-league opponents.

Neil Harris's left-footed strike put the home side one up shortly after half-time but the match was in doubt until Jason Price's 72nd-minute knockout blow. A flurry of goals in the final 10 minutes – Lewis Taylor for the visitors before Danny Schofield and Price again for the home team – put some shine on the final scoreline.

The first half had been a rather dour affair, with the best chance falling to Steve Morison, who headed straight at the goalkeeper. Millwall will now face Staines, conquerers of Shrewsbury on Saturday.
